In July and August The Glamorous Housewife came to a screeching halt!
I was swamped with family obligations, ie: the kids being home for the summer, plus I went on a magical trip to Paris with my husband and no kids!
So I barely had any posts for these months.
The good news is, it was also when I premiered my online cooking TV show: Making It Modern, where I recreate a vintage recipe and then use it as inspiration to make a new dish more suitable to the modern palate!
Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel because new episodes will be starting next week!
Here is the very first episode of Making It Modern! I recreated a pineapple upside down cake and then turned it into an effervescent cocktail!
For my second episode I thought the sausage boatee appetizers were hilariously retro and then I used similar flavors to make the pineapple and prosciutto spears which are an elegant treat to serve at a cocktail party.
Last year my husband was diagnosed with Hashimotos disease, which is actually much more common in middle aged women, not men. I wanted to get the word out about this condition to my readers because I often get emails from women who talk about “not having enough energy” and “unexplained weight gain”, both of which are symptoms of Hashimotos.
