Sometimes it feels like you spend all of December working your butt off to create warm happy holiday memories for everyone but yourself.
There you are, surrounded by what feels like miles of tangled Christmas tree lights, your kids are fighting with each other because you have been so busy wrapping gifts to ship off to family members that you forgot to make dinner, and your husband calls to say he is going to be home late because the office holiday party ran long.
Last year I wrote an article on getting through the holidays without losing your mind. In it I mentioned that I feel many women end up spending too much time making warm memories for their families, but they end up feeling exhausted and bitter afterwards because they don’t take any time for themselves to enjoy the holiday they are working so hard to make beautiful.
To try and help those of you who fall into this category, I have put together a fun little booklet with 25 ideas on how to take some time out of your incredibly busy day and focus on both yourself and the spirit of the winter holidays.
- to take 10 minutes out of your day to reflect on the holiday season.
- use prompts to let your imagination soar!
- how to let go of your frustrations and worries that are keeping you from having fun.
- to celebrate each day by taking time out for yourself!
The idea behind this book is for you to choose one of the 25 inspirational activities to complete each day. Each one of these pursuits is intended for you take time out for yourself to slow down and focus on you and what makes you happy, content, or inspired.
As women we often get too caught up in being and doing too much and always striving for perfection. Use this book and its suggestions to remind yourself that you deserve to enjoy the holidays just as much as anyone and it is up to you to put yourself first, even if it is only for a short period each day.
This Christmas, remember that you deserve to enjoy the holidays just as much as your family.
