When it comes to Halloween, most of us either love it, or hate. There is very little in-between.
This article is for those of you who are not looking forward to getting all dressed up on October 31st.
Look, I totally get it! Sometimes you just want to throw on something comfortable and not have to muss and fuss with an elaborate costume. For those of you nodding your head in agreement, I have the answer to all of your troubles: MAKEUP!
I have combed through Pinterest to bring you 17 of the easiest makeup Halloween ideas where you can wear whatever you like and let your makeup do all the work!
Lets kick things off with one of the easiest looks to recreate. All you really need is orange eyeshadow and black eyeliner! The rest is optional.
Lets say, for the sake of argument, that you aren’t interested in face makeup. Why not let your hands do the talking? In the first picture all you need to do is rub some black eyeshadow on your fingertips after you have painted your nails black. If you are worried about that being too messy, try painting your nails white and then add some bright red polish to mimic blood? What a fun way to subtly celebrate Halloween!
Speaking of blood, you could just add some red blood droplets to the corner of your eyes and finish up with a bright red lip! Now you are a vampire!
Take the vampire inspiration one step further and paint your face with white costume makeup, darken your eyes with black shadow, and use a thin paintbrush to add red lipstick to your eyes and lips.
If you have a black eyeliner pen, you can easily recreate this look by drawing lines in and around your eye socket. Finish with a shiny dark red lipstick.
Another option is to use a black eyeliner pen to carefully draw spiderwebs both above and under your eyes. The rhinestones are a glamorous touch.
Here is a perfect example of a simple cat face. Love the use of the cat eyeliner. Meow!
For those of you who like a vintage look, try exaggerating a 1960s mod eye. Very Twiggy!
Now we are going to get into a few looks that are slightly more difficult than the ones we already explored. To recreate the look above, all you need to do is add some fake eyelashes and then draw an extra wide mouth with pointy teeth.
This look is very similar to the one proceeding it, only this time the mouth is drawn wide on both sides and the teeth are flat, not jagged.
Here is a different way to disguise your real mouth using makeup. The lower lip is covered with white costume paint and then a fake mouth is painted in black underneath. Finally a bottom “lip and teeth” are added using the same costume makeup.
To create the “cracks” seen in the last two pictures, all you need is black eyeliner and possibly a brush if you really want to make thin lines. Make a large jagged mark as the center of the crack and then paint on lines coming from out of the black hole. Creepy!
If you would rather be pretty instead of spooky, here is some lovely inspiration! Buy a silk flower and then cut off a few of its petals. Use clear fake eyelash glue to stick them above and below your eye.
Ok, these last two might fall out of the easy category into intermediate. But I thought they were too cool to not share. In the above picture you can recreate this look by painting fake eyes on your cheeks!
If painting open eyes seems too complicated, purchase a few extra pairs of fake eyelashes and then glue them to your cheeks and forehead! Use some of your eyeshadow to create a fake crease above each lash. I think this one is my favorite!
So there you have it! 17 incredible, and easy Halloween makeup ideas.
