I adore surrounding my home with potted plants and flowers.
Orchids are one of my favorites because they are easily purchased at my local grocery store and they add a pop of color to wherever I display them. Unfortunately I have found they are a bit messy when you water them.
Many websites suggest soaking the base of the orchid in water for a few minutes, but I have found bits of the bark the orchids live in get all over my kitchen sink. Then I found a much simpler and cleaner way to water my orchids and I have never looked back!
Isn’t that clever? By using ice cubes the water slowly melts and gets absorbed into the orchid roots. I was concerned the ice would somehow burn or freeze my orchids, but so far I have had zero issues with my watering method.
