This Valentines Day headband is a kitschy and festive way to add some romance to your holiday outfit!
With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s important to begin preparing one’s outfit! I love a themed holiday ensemble, and I plan on decking out in red and hearts to celebrate!
While I do like a kitschy outfit to coordinate with a theme, sometimes my budget or practicality simply doesn’t allow for a new dress. Instead, in true 40s style, I go for a themed accessory to spice up a piece I already own.
For Valentine’s Day, enter the heart headband!
- buttons, ten small and one large
- hot glue
First, cut out ten small hearts and one large heart.
My small hearts are about 1” across, and the larger one is about 1.5”-2” across. Next, hot glue each heart to the headband. Starting about an inch above the end of the headband to accommodate fitting nicely behind your ears, glue three small hearts, then the large heart, all lying in the same direction.
Finish out the rest of the headband with the small hearts.
Now glue on a small button onto each small heart. Glue the larger button on the large heart. Your heart headband is now ready to wear!
I chose a more alternative color scheme for my headband in red and aqua, but you can feel free to choose buttons and felt that match an outfit you have planned or go with a traditional Valentine color scheme. The simplicity of this Valentine’s Day headband would make a great option for headbands in other colorways for everyday wear, too.
