*For those of you who are new to The Glamorous Housewife, I need to mention that my husband and I purchased a property where we plan on building our dream home from the ground up. I will be sharing the experience with my readers so you can follow along on the fun. You can read my first post HERE. If you really want to see how I get inspired, follow my Dream Home board on Pinterest. It’s been almost a month since I last updated you ladies on the dream home. Things are moving at a snails pace. With that said, we have had two more rounds of floor plans and though we are getting close to finalizing, it is still a ways off. Once we have decided on a floor plan I will be sure to share that with you all. In the meanwhile I want to talk about what my inspiration is for the home and how I imagine the house to look on the outside. As I mentioned in my first post, we are going with a more Caribbean/Southern beach house as opposed to a California beach home. The picture above was my original inspiration, but things have changed since then. The house is probably going to end up looking more like the one above. I adore the bright white with the blue shutters, don’t you? However I found this picture on Pinterest this weekend and I am kind of obsessing on it. Could you die! I don’t think I would go with the pink, even though I personally adore it, but the molding and the roof line! So good! Right now the heart of our home is our front porch. We spend all day out there on the weekends, and often times during the week we are there in the afternoon and for dinner as well. We don’t want to lose this in our new home, but we also plan on having a small pool, which will be a new focal point, plus we will have better ocean views from the second and third floors. So we are struggling with how much first story front porch we want. Isn’t this photo a dream! It is a huge inspiration to the feeling I want in the home. Here is a different shot of the same home. Though there is no pool, I can see us having a similar courtyard with a small pool where the table and chairs are located. Divine! Here is another picture of a tropical courtyard that I adore. This pool area is much bigger than the one we would have, but take a look at those chairs and the umbrella! I love it when greenery goes right up to the pool edge. As you can see from these photos, I definitely have a distinctive point of view but I am not sure what to call it. Beachy chic? Southern beach eclectic? So what do you ladies think? Do you like what you see so far?
