Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, I say it is officially summer! I adore this season and plan on squeezin every opportunity for fun in the sun out of it, but it also means I don’t have the same amount of time to devote to the blog. The kids are in camp for fewer hours than they are in school, and things can be very chaotic around here- something that takes me out of my comfort zone. So to embrace the crazy and to keep things flowing here on The Glamorous Housewife, I have planned something I call “The Summer Of Inspiration!”.
Starting today, on Monday through Friday, I will be posting one thing to keep you inspired each day. Sometimes the posts will be long a full of explanation. Other times I will only need a pretty picture and a few sentences to convey the creativity I am espousing that day. But the goal is to try and make this summer full of passion, creativity, fun, and inspiration for all of my dear readers.
I am beginning with the suggestion of making a list of your summer goals. I am a goal oriented person and I like checking things off a list. Therefore I find it beneficial to write down my goals so whenever I am planning things I can use my list as a jumping off point. You can see what is on my personal summer goal list below. Don’t ask me why most of them are food related, that’s just what I seem focused on these days. So sometime in the next few days I want you to find the time to write down all of your summer goals. Or if you like, you can write them down in the comments section! I adore seeing what everyone wants to accomplish and it might give me a few new ideas to add to my list.
Last summer I purchased an ice cream maker but I put it away for the winter. Looks like it is time to dust it off and start using it again! Any suggestions on flavors I should make?
Would you believe we don’t own a grill! I think this is the summer we buy one and I learn how to use it.
My kids love selling lemonade, and we happen to live on a street that is a cut-through to the beach. Time for the kids to start being entrepreneurs!
I would like to walk along the shore in the early mornings and look for sea glass with my middle son. He loves it because it is a bit like looking for buried treasure.
Honestly, this is always a goal. Any suggestions on titles? You can see some of my favorites here.
I bought a book a few weeks ago on pie making and have been making a pie a week. Hopefully after a summer of making pies I will have perfected the art.
I have been throwing Friday night dinners for years, but I am getting a bit bored by them. I thought it might be fun to start making brunch instead!
Of course, I am also going to be doing each of the things I am blogging about for The Summer Of Inspiration, so my real goal is make it through the whole summer! I hope you all come with me and are inspired to make this the best summer ever!
