Guess who was in the latest issue of Vintage Life Magazine? The ladies there are so wonderful and they asked for a photo of me in a floral dress, so of course I had wear my newest Trashy Diva frock which I purchased because I think the crepe myrtle pattern is stunningly gorgeous. There was no way I was going to not have that dress in my closet. Isn’t it perfection? Since I have received it I have worn it at least half a dozen times, which is fairly rare for me. I usually try to spread out my wearing of clothing so they will last longer, but in this instance I just can’t help myself.
The shoes are quite old and no longer available. The purse is vintage, as well as the bracelet.
It is funny that at age 40 I swear I feel more beautiful than I have ever felt in the 39 years leading up to this. I guess it is the perfect combination of taking care of one’s skin, not caring (as much) about being curvy, knowing there is more to life than being super skinny, and realizing that beauty is something that comes from within, not necessarily something that is only a physical manifestation. I’m 40 years old and I look damn good! I know it is really braggy to say that, and to be honest it is difficult to admit it out loud, but I think women are too hard on themselves and should celebrate the things we are proud of, not just lament our inadequacies (of which I have plenty).
So here is what I want to know. What makes you feel beautiful? Do you have a nice rack? What about a bootylicious badonkadonk? Maybe you have a striking pair of eyes? Just name one physical thing that you are proud of in the comments below.
