When I was a kid I loved going to summer camp! I mean who wouldn’t want to spend all day hiking, making arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing, and singing by the campfire? Now that I am an adult I long to run away for a week or two and get back to nature. How cool would it be to sleep in tents with other strangers, stay up all night talking about boys, and getting sick from eating too many smores?
At one point I did a little research on family camps. But I came to the conclusion that I love my family very much but I didn’t really want to spend a week in the woods with them. Well, at least not with a crazy 3 year old. It was around this time that Mel from Camp Aloha contacted me. She has designed an online camp experience for adults! Wait. Whaaaat? What does that even mean?
It means you can now sign up for Camp Aloha and take fun crafting courses throughout the summer months. It includes knitting, flower pressing, scrapbooking, cooking, etc and it all done with other “campers” who are doing the same things you are! How fun is that?
I have taken a few classes online, and the best ones were those that had a thriving community. So far my favorite blogging class was called Blogging Your Way by Decor8 because there were at least 50 of us all taking the course at the same time and we would chat with one another about what we were learning, ask each other questions, and get to know everyone’s blog. As a matter of fact that is where I discovered A Beautiful Mess, which I had never heard of before and am now a huge fan. Camp Aloha has this same comradery, which is why I thought it was such a good idea!
If you are like me and not only craft challenged but also challenged for time, Camp Aloha has a full service “Camp Suitcase” you can purchase where they ship all the supplies you will need to your front door step! There is no need to search everywhere for all your supplies because it comes right to you. So awesome. Oh, and I did I mention there is a discounted price for international shipping? That’s right, this class is world wide! And for those of you with a full craft closet, you can just sign up for the camp with no supplies.
I hope you are as excited as I am for this adult summer camp for adults! You can sign up right now (HERE) and camp starts June 15th.
