Last week I mentioned I had my garden redesigned. HERE are the before pictures. I am now ready to unveil the result!
Soooo much better than before! It really is the garden of my dreams.
Some people are forest people, others are beach people. You even have some people that adore the bricks and concrete of the city. But me, I want to be surrounded by flowers. I adore flowers and to finally have a garden filled with fragrance and color is a dream come true.
I worked with the garden designer to try and achieve a sort of English garden with lots of color. I should mention that my definition of an English garden is one with overgrown and luscious foliage, plenty of flowers, and looks good year round. We decided to go with a tricolor chord of pink, yellow, and white which sets off the greens and blues of the house perfectly.
We also added some turquoise pots of various sizes to help anchor the posts of the front porch.
I was surprised Mimi, the garden designer, could get so much color into the pots because they are essentially always in the shade. But she did a great job of combining color with texture.
I can’t wait for the flowers and plants to really set root and start getting bigger and overgrown!
Even my Greek statue busts got new plants.
You know how you have a goal that you think about for a long time, but can never find the time to get to it. But it simmers in the back of your mind and then one day things fall into place and your wish comes true? That’s how I feel about my garden. I have wanted it for so long but for various reasons it took forever for me to get it together to do something about it. My garden brings me so much joy and I can’t wait to see it fill in and change with the seasons.
