Even though I have lived in my home for about three years I don’t believe I have ever really shared the room I spend the most time in, which is the family room. The main reason I have never taken photos of it is due to the fact I swear it is always messy. I was also never in love with how it looked because I couldn’t decide on what it should look like. But at the beginning of the year I decided one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to make the family room fabulous and I finally finished! Want to see?
Here is what it looks like when you enter. The majority of space is taken up by the couch in the corner. I like the shape of the couch, but the cotton fabric has faded over time and I think it is in need of a new cover. I always buy slip covered couches for family rooms because they get so beaten up.
To the left is a very comfortable yellow rocking chair that I purchased when I got pregnant with my first born 11 years ago. She isn’t the prettiest thing I have ever seen, but she is now part of the family.
To the right is a cabinet with the tv in it. I didn’t bother to take a good picture of the cabinet because it isn’t that cute.
We get a lot of compliments on the vintage Stanley Tool poster which I got for a steal on eBay about 11 years ago. The library cart is via Land Of Nod and is perfect for storing Ella’s books and wooden train set below (here).
As you can see, the room is warm, colorful, and doesn’t take it’s self too seriously, which is pretty much how I would describe my family!
