After cleaning out my pantry the other week I thought it was time to tackle the closet. In actuality, my closet isn’t so disorganized. The problem is I am bad at maintaining it, leading to some messy drawers, shoes, and accessories. Plus I haven’t been as diligent about getting rid of clothing I no longer wear. So though it didn’t need a massive overhaul, I still had to go through my wardrobe and assess what should stay and what needed to go.
The first thing I do when getting rid of clothing is ask myself if I love it. If the answer is no, I pull it. Then I go through the pile of discards and ask myself why I don’t love it. Most of the time the answer is simply I no longer like that style, or it has a large stain, or I wore it to death and it looks kind of raggedy. The good news is, after following my set in stone rule to only buy what I love, I don’t have too many things that I no longer adore. But I found that I had a fairly large pile of clothing that I loved, but I wasn’t sure if they fit or not. So I put them on and video taped them so you could see for yourself the items that fit, that could be altered, or that didn’t fit and couldn’t be altered. I love each and every dress, but unfortunately a few of them have to go. So watch the video and let me know what you think. Do you agree with the choices I made? Let me know in the comments.
