Creative Christmas Card Displays

creative christmas card displays 8

I don’t know about you, but my stack of holiday cards is starting to get out of hand. I always display my cards, but that display changes from year to year. For a while I did the long ribbon hung on a door and then double stick taped the cards to the ribbon. But then the kids started to pull on it so I scrapped that idea. Last year I stuck them amongst a holiday display I had on the foyer table. But this year I am still not sure what I am going to do, so I turned to Pinterest to help me find some creative ways to display Christmas cards and I was not disappointed. I thought it would be fun to share my favorites with you so you too can be inspired by some glamorous displays.

Here is the easiest of all the presentations. Essentially all you do is stick the cards around a door frame. I like how festive it is and from a distance it  looks like decoration around the door.

I found quite a few displays using a vintage shutter, but this one took it to the next level by adding the bright red ribbons.

Now this is fun! You start with an advent calendar, and as each day passes you take down the little gift and add a Christmas card! Such a good idea!

Got an old wooden hanger lying around? Why not use it to display your holiday cards?

I saw a display like this at Anthropologie many years ago and have always wanted to recreate it. The problem is I don’t have a large mirror anywhere but in the bathroom. But if you have a display mirror you can easily achieve this look. Very glamorous!

Out of all the displays I found, this one was my favorite. I am a sucker for an inspiration board but the thought of doing one exclusively for the holidays never crossed my mind! All you need is a cork board, or even just a stretch of wall that you use to tape or pin different pictures, magazine articles, and little trinkets. This might be the solution I was looking for!

How do you display your Christmas cards? Do you have one way you arrange them every year or do you change it up? Let me know in the comments.

  1. I tend to either go the fairly traditional route and line them up on some floating shelves that we have or, for a fun change of pace (and especially if we get quite a few cards in a given year) I’ll display them (partially open and draped over the bars) on our white folding laundry drying rack.

We punch a hole through one corner, tie red ribbon on, string several together, and then hang them on a hook near the window or a door. It’s fun to take them out each year and see how friends and their children have grown! Merry Christmas!
