One Skirt Three Ways
If you have been following my blog for a while then you will already know my love of skirts. I think they are the perfect garment to glamorize any outfit and yet still be comfortable. I thought I would do a post on three ways to wear a skirt: retro, glamorous, and casual and I used a skirt I got from Angie’s Sweatshop (here). I contacted Angie to see if she was interested in sponsoring my blog and we came up with this idea. I thought it would be difficult to figure out three ways to wear this skirt, but I actually came up with at least five different outfits! I swear, skirts are seriously the backbone of any glamorous wardrobe.
For this look I was attempting a sort of 1950s Italian ensemble. I thought the black top was kind of reminiscent of something Bridget Bardot would wear while shopping at her local outdoor market and it looked fabulous with the turquoise butterfly skirt (here). I cinched in my waist with a belt and threw on a pair of vintage reproduction shoes (here) which are both comfortable and lovely to look at.
Next I decided to add some color to the skirt. I paired it with a top in the most gorgeous shade of plum (similar here). I wore a pair of killer heels, and brought the whole thing together with a new necklace in rich autumnal shades (here).
Sometimes all you need to make an outfit glamorous is a great pear of shoes and a statement necklace.
For my final outfit I decided a simple patterned top was perfect for a day at the park with my daughter. I like to keep things very casual when I am at the park, but casual doesn’t have to mean shlubby. A pair of comfortable flats and a blackbird necklace (similar here) finished off the outfit.
As you can see, finding different ways to wear a skirt is easier than you might think. The good news is Angie’s Sweatshop specializes in skirts! You can choose any of the fabrics provided with any of the screen graphics! I am thinking about getting this red rose skirt (here) or maybe this grey skirt with two birds (here).
This post was sponsored by Angie’s Sweatshop and I received the skirt shown as part of that sponsorship. If you are interested in purchasing a sponsored post, please read more about this and other opportunities here.
