On Monday I spoke about how I used one image as inspiration for my wine and cheese party. Today I want to explain to you how I  build an inspiration board on Pinterest to inspire me when decorating for a holiday. I stared the board: Patriotic Parties the other day so I could collect various images of vintage fourth of July decorations to keep as a resource if I ever decided to decorate my home for Independence Day. I simply searched for “vintage fourth of July decorations” in the search box and the most amazing images came up! Here are some of my favorites. (You can clink on each photo to be taken to the original source)

Aren’t they lovely! I especially like the painted baseball idea because we live next to a baseball field and my boys are always coming home with old baseballs. If I get around to decorating my kitchen nook for the 4th, I will be sure to show you how I translated these images into my own decor. In the meanwhile, maybe you will find inspirations here for your own home. If you do, please send me pics so I can see how you were inspired and what you did with that spark.

Such timelessly beautiful decorations! I’ve always loved seeing how Americans decorate for this important holiday and would relish the chance to enjoy the 4th first hand while in the States one year.

Happy countdown to Independence Day, dear gal!
