I am totally obsessing over this John Burroughs quote because it is so true! There is never enough time in the day. I find my weeks are like a snowball rolling downhill. On Monday I have a little snowball and by the end of the week it is huge and powerful and picking up speed! My Thursdays and Fridays are always the busiest of the week, and things don’t slow down over the weekend. It isn’t until Monday that I have a minute to breathe. That is why you will see more posts toward the beginning of the week then the end. But I always try to post on both Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to visit me over the weekend. Last weekend I posted my favorite items from my sponsors and I wondered, “Why don’t you…” on Sunday. Monday was a big day with a mommy & baby fashion round-up, plus part 7 of my popular “How To Have A Good Marriage” series. Tuesday’s post was a wonderful interview with Rebekka of Bloomer’s and Frocks. Wednesday had two DIY posts- the first was on how to prepare an artichoke, and the second was a peony wreath for spring. I was pleasantly surprised by how many people loved the artichoke and wreath posts. I can never guess what will be popular with you dolls! Thursday I posted a new video on how I do my hair, which brings us to today!
If you haven’t been reading my blog for very long, you might not know of my love for McQueen. I was devastated when he passed on and made sure to fly to New York for his extraordinary exhibit at the Met when I was almost 8 months pregnant. I stumbled upon this documentary about his life and work and sat transfixed throughout the entire thing. I have always been a fan of Isabella Blow and knew of their designer/muse association, but this film really captured the essence of their tumultuous relationship.
While you are on YouTube, why don’t you watch this amazing rendition of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” in almost every genre of music, in historical order.
Speaking of history, I thought this article on the history of the dandy was pretty interesting. Who do you consider to be modern day dandies?
I leave you with yet another video/article about one professor’s crusade to save America from its slovenly fashion. It is hilarious and you will all both laugh at the humor and feel a bit smug because you know you are also on the same crusade. Maybe we should all write into the Sunday Morning Show and let them know that there is a large group of us who take care of our appearance and adore looking swell when we step outside of our home.
I hope you all have a glamorous weekend!
