One Table Two Ways

A few weeks ago a threw a picnic themed party. I decided to take two of the table runners I made for that party and style them in a new way. Here is a shot from the picnic party:

As you can see, I had the runners going perpendicular to the table and they were used as de facto place mats. The flowers were arranged in different sized glass jars and I used little mason jars with straws as glasses.

In the second table setting I placed two of the runners along the center of table and then used the same glass jars but instead of clumping them in bunches, I scattered them along the table. Then I filled them with peonies. I used the mason jars as glasses again, only this time without straws.

By switching out the plain white dishes for these vintage floral plates and switching the napkins for solid green, I gave the table a whole new look.

I have found I tend to use the same items for my tablescapes over and over again, I just try to rearrange them in new ways. Sometimes just changing out one or two items can give your table a whole new look.

Gorgeous tablescapes! Placing table runners perpendicularly feels so fresh, relaxed (in the best of ways), and summery – I could definitely see duplicating this idea of an outdoor picnic table this summer.

Your dining room is so unique, I love the look :) The glammy backsplash of the wet bar is perfection!
