Well ladies, I’ve got “bad news” for you. It’s that time of year again. Yes, swimsuit season is quickly approaching. The good news is I found some really cute vintage inspired bathing suits that should be flattering on most body types. With the exception of the Hawaiian print I thought I would try to stick to basic colors and shapes. In my youth I often purchased up to three bikinis a season, but these days I usually only get one. To be totally honest I have yet to buy one this year even though my beloved favorite maillot disintegrated when I tried it on before I went to Scottsdale. Needless to say I am devastated. Maybe one of these will cheer me up.
I am starting with this bathing suit (here) because I am seriously considering it. Even though it only looks ok on this ridiculously skinny model, it looked fantastic on my sister-in-law who is nice and curvy (big boobs). It comes with a strap, which I would wear ( I hate always pulling my top up to make sure the girls aren’t exposed). I especially like the little ruffle around the bottom.
Here is a very similar suit, but this one is at a great price from Target (here). It doesn’t have the ruffle and I am guessing the cups aren’t nearly as good, but for the price I think this one is a winner.
Here is the Hawaiian print bathing suit I spoke of earlier. I really like the ruching at the breast and along the center front panel. I found it very flattering for those of us with a bit of a tummy.
For those of you who are super curvy, I really like this swimsuit (here). I have the same one in a red stripe and I find it very flattering (here).
This suit is a bit more on the glamorous side (here). I don’t think it is super vintage looking, but I really like the way the top is structured and how it flairs out at the bottom. The small bottoms concern me, but maybe some of my readers who are smaller in the thighs then I am can pull this one off.
This suit is new on Mod Cloth (here) and I think it is very intriguing I haven’t quite seen a suit like it before. I really like the unusual straps, and I find the bottoms to be better than the ones above. My only concern is the polka dot band on the top. What do you think?
Loved this bikini (here). No way I can wear it, but I can admire it from afar. It just feels so “French” to me for some reason, which is silly because I am under the impression the French don’t wear bikini tops.
So there you have this years top bathing suit pics. Let me ask you something: do you buy a swimsuit every year?
