Daily Outfits
I have to admit I haven’t been taking pictures of my daily outfits as often lately. This is mainly due to repeat outfits. I mean I only have so many items of clothing, and when I find a cute outfit I often repeat it. But I did manage to put together a few winners, so here they are. I happened to be at Old Navy the other day when I was looking for a shirt for this post, and I found two other shirts I quite liked. I am wearing one of them here and the other can be seen in this post. The pants are a wide legged sailor pant, and the cardigan is a felted wool. I love the retro style of the sailor pants and they keep me warm on these cooler winter days and I thought the pop of the bright pink gingham was fun against the floral sweater. The shoes are fairly old but you can still find them here and are quite comfortable. Finally, I wore a pretty necklace that I am loving right now from here.
I think you have seen all of these items before, just not styled in exactly this way. I have worn the yellow skirt (similar here) quite a few times before and I consider it a staple in my closet. I remember I was planning to be at home for the whole day so I only wore a t-shirt, but then had to unexpectedly run out so I threw on one of my favorite vintage coats from Dear Golden. The shoes and sunglasses are ancient and the necklace is sold out. Even though I much prefer warm weather, it is nice to be able to throw a fabulous coat over a casual outfit to run to the grocery store and still look glamorous.
Here we have one of my favorite dresses. It is by Eva Franco and she is one of my favorite designers. This dress is sold out but you can see her other styles here. I own three of her other dresses including this one and this one, and another that has sold out. They are all definitely on the the more expensive side but I find they fit my body quite well and they are just so elegant and colorful and I wear them time after time. The sweater is at least 10 years old and the shoes are by my favorite shoe designer, Miss L. Fire.
This is one of my new basic items: the black full skirt (here). For some reason I have had a difficult time finding one so when this came up on Mod Cloth I bought it right away. It is so comfortable and yet glamorous, goes with everything, and I especially like the detail of the double layering. I paired it with a cardigan I got a million years ago at Anthropologie and a pair of Miss L. Fire shoes from at least a few years back. As I have mentioned time and again, when you purchase clothing you really love and has a classic shape, they just don’t go out of style and will stretch your dollar further then if you follow all the trends.
I end with my glamour shot. I went to a charity banquet last night and this was my outfit. I found the dress a little over a year ago on Mod Cloth and it sold out in about three hours! I knew the minute I saw it that it was perfect for me, and every time I wear it I feel beautiful. Is there really anything else one needs in a dress? The white jacket is vintage and is from Dear Golden, the shoes are Betsy Johnson (similar here), and the necklace is old from Kate Spade (similar here). The hair is my hot set and I have a tutorial here.

you, the clothes, your style.
love the “matrioschka” dress!
i tend to go lazy here in the woods – but you always inspire me. today i wore a skirt & blouse combi to go to the market – on ski, 6km, 40cm snow, -2°C……
Girl! That is COLD! But I bet you look fabulous
-10°C would be cold in our corner of the world.
at -15 it gets sportsmanlike…….. thank god not as often.
I love the red shoes in the first picture and the whole outfit in the last picture is wonderful, the hair, dress and coat in particular
Thanks! It is always fun to dress up.
I love, love, love the outfit in the first set of photos. The colors are lovely and look great on you. You have done a great job of paring the patterns/colors.
I don’t know why but I haven’t been receiving new posts via bloglovin from your blog.
I tried unfollowing and following again so I hope that works.
I love love love that last outfit, so glamourous with that white jacket and I think I may have to go search for one for myself.
Hmmm. That is strange. I will look into it.
