Another exciting week here at The Glamorous Housewife. I mean it isn’t every day one is featured in a magazine! Needless to say, I am still dancing in the clouds with the thrill of it all. To add to my excitement, next week I will be shipping off to attend the Altitude Summit in Salt Lake City! I have been dying to attend since last year, but I was unable to go because last year I had a little baby. This year she is all grown up and Daddy is perfectly capable of taking care of the kids. Yay!
I also posted a few new recipes to go with the tropical themed dinner I made last weekend. You should really try the chicken and the quinoa salad, they were my favorite. And finally, for those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram, I made sure you got to see my outfits from last week.
Did you know I started out as a costume designer? I adored every minute of it, but working in Hollywood isn’t conducive to having a family, so I left. But I still love reading about other costume designers and what they are up to. I thought this article on the HBO breakout show Girls costume designer was interesting. I think the most difficult costume design is when the people are real, and not necessarily gorgeous. I thought her idea of fitting the girls while wearing spanks and then when shooting the ladies didn’t wear the undergarments, so everything was just a little rumpled was a touch of genius.
Speaking of film, I found the pictures of these behind the scenes of some old movies were pretty awesome. Get your geek on by counting how many of these films you have seen! I’ve seen 11 of them (nerd alert!).
Well hello Dita. Do you have any advice on looking glamorous and casual at the same time? Read her answer here.
On a mildly inappropriate humorous note, I had a good chuckle while perusing these vintage phallic ads.
