Obsessed With: Emily & Fin
I will admit it- I have about a dozen or so designers that I am obsessed with and I would say most of my clothing comes from those designers. Emily & Fin is one of them. I found their brand last year on Mod Cloth (here) after I purchased a dress by them called “Too Much Fun”. I even wore it when my home was featured in Country Living (it is the one in the family shot). Later I bought another “Too Much Fun” dress in a red and white gingham (here) which I dubbed the perfect picnic dress. Now I am the proud owner of three Emily & Fin dresses, which is the one I am wearing in the photo shoot (here). Yes, it is exactly the same as the other two dresses, only in a different fabric. But who cares? I say when you find something you love that you think looks good on you and is comfortable, why not buy more than one of them?
As a matter of fact, I did the exact same thing with the shoes, which is another one of my obsessions. They are Miss L. Fire and I have them in this sea foam green (here and here) as well as in black. I mean who can resist a glitter heel? The cardigan and necklace are old from Mod Cloth and have sold out. The purse is from Kate Spade and is also sold out.
As a side note, what do you think of the Heidi braids? I kinda love them because it keeps my hair out of my face. Thoughts?

The braids are awesome! I was confused, seeing these pictures before that last bit about them, wasn’t sure it was you or not, but they really are great. Would be lovely in the summer, I imagine.
Lol! Could have also been the huge sunglasses that were obscuring my face that confused you.
Last night I have discovered your blog and spend hours criss-cross read – beautiful, very interesting texts, wonderful style.
This hairstyle is one of my favorite and most comfortable, beautiful old-fashioned, easy to make and indestructible. and it looks very pretty on you
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words! And welcome to The Glamorous Housewife.
Technically Heidi never wore plaits but as it’s such a common misconception I’ll let it slide
I absolutely love them. I wore a version of those a lot when my hair was long. Can you do a tutorial on them if you haven’t already? Someday I’d like to try doing it just like that
Wait. What? Seriously? I had no idea!
And yes, I can do a tutorial on how I did it. Look for it in the next few weeks.
Her description in the book is short dark curly hair. I think illustrators changed her to make her look more Nordic/Teutonic. Can’t wait for the tutorial!
Love your sweet heidi braids and every other element of this splendidly pretty outfit. Those shoes…my stars…they’re pure footwear heaven!
♥ Jessica
Thanks sweet Jessica!
I want, no need, those shoes!
Go get them girl! LOL! The new Miss L. Fire spring/summer collection is coming out soon, so hopefully you can find a few pairs if the ones in your size are sold out.
I like Emily & Fin dresses too, but I don’t own one yet. Just lust after them on Modcloth all the time.
Ive been eyeing their Day After Day dresses for some time now.
You look lovely, as always!
Thanks doll! I swear they are very comfortable.
The hair and sunglasses have a vintage Halston feel.
Interesting! I think you might be right.
