Well, I did it. I broke down and bought a pair of jeans. And no, they aren’t vintage. I adore vintage denim on others, but I think the shape of vintage jeans are too close to “mom” jeans and I have some issues with that. So I went with a pair that are cut like trousers and have a wide leg. I kept them nice and long to elongate my legs, and I tried to dress them up with a pair of heels, a nice tee shirt, and a cardigan. The cardigan and belt are old from Anthropologie, but the shirt and jeans are available here, and here. The shoes can be found here, and the necklace was from Ruche, but has sold out.
You are now looking at my official winter uniform: cropped pants and cute tee shirts. I spend an inordinate amount of time at home and needed something to replace my beloved dresses that I wear when the weather is warm, and this is what I have come up with. I went on a bit of a shopping spree at Bannana Republic because they have so many wonderful basics right now, including the pants (here) and the top (similar here). The shoes are very old from Anthropologie and the purse is old from Kate Spade. But my pride and joy is the vintage polka dot jacket that I purchased at Dear Golden Vintage.
Here I am in another pair of cropped pants, also from Banana Republic (here). The striped tee shirt is old from J.Crew, the sweater is old from Nanette Lepore and was purchased on Ebay, and the purse is from one of my beloved sponsors: Where Are They Now. The shoes were from Mod Cloth and are sold out.
Here is another take on the cropped pants/ tee shirt look. The pants are the same as the one’s above, and the shirt is from Mod Cloth (here). The shoes are vintage reproduction from Re-Mix (here) and they are so comfortable, I wore them throughout Italy when I visited this past summer. The jacket is vintage and I have owned it for at least 17 years! I got it as a gift from a costume designer when I used to work in Hollywood. So glamorous!
I joked on Instagram that I wore this to the grocery store, but in reality I was dressed up for a double date with my husband and another couple. I wanted to really get dolled up so I wore my favorite skirt (sold-out), and a new lace peplum shirt (here). The shoes are Betsey Johnson (here) and the necklace is new from, wait for it, Banana Republic! I know, it looks so vintage! You can find it here. If you are interested in my hair style, I did a video on how I set my hair here.
