On Sunday I posted a new feature here on The Glamorous Housewife. Every week I am going to pick one craft and then on Sunday I am going to post the materials needed and directions on how to do the craft. Then on Wednesday I am going to post my results and I am hoping you dolls will join me in my endeavor.
This weeks craft was to decoupage a vase. I have never decoupaged before, and I was concerned my vase was going to turn out like my other Martha fails. So I decided to take it easy and do an ombre effect from light to dark. I didn’t have a color picked out, so I went to Michaels and they had the best ombre colors in blue. I started on the top by ripping the paper in 2 inch strips and then Mod Podged them to the vase. Here is the result:
I figured it was pretty good for a first try! It turns out the scrapbook paper I used was on the thicker side, so I would have to wait until the glue turned tacky before I could really get the ends to stick down. Then I would go over the seams with my finger to be sure everything was tacked down. And finally, I made sure to cover the top of the paper with the Mod Podge as well.
So now it is your turn to show me what you created. The goal of this project is to get all of my kittens to be more creative as well as have a sort of blog crafting party. I have partnered with InLinkz so you dolls should be able to upload a photo from your computer, or you can link to a blog post you did in regards to this project. If you use a blog post then viewers can click through and visit your blog, which is awesome because you will get new viewers as well as better SEO stats! Everyone wins! This is my first time using InLinkz, so hopefully everything will go swimmingly. You can add a photo/link from now until the following Wednesday when I will be posting the next project.
Link party here.
