This is the Annenberg Community Beach House. It used to be the guest house of Marion Davis who was William Randolph Hurst’s paramour.
Wasn’t she a beauty! Her original beach home was torn down years ago and is now rebuilt into a community beach house. But the guest house is still the original and can be rented out for parties and weddings! I thought it would be perfect for my 20th reunion.
Looking west off the balcony shown in the first picture, the venue has a walled-in garden which would be perfect for cocktails and dancing.
I want it to look something like the picture above. Wouldn’t that be lovely?
Then, just behind the balcony is the living room. This room has couches and chairs for those people who want to lounge. I thought it would be nice to put framed pictures from our yearbook up on the mantle.
Here is what greets guests when they come in the side door. Don’t you just love those black and white photos! I thought this would be an ideal place for distributing the party favors.
Wouldn’t it be thrilling to drink cocktails on that balcony and pretend to be Hollywood royalty from the 30s? Not sure if we will end up throwing the reunion there, but keep your fingers crossed!
