As I have mentioned before, I love me some Tori Spelling. She might not know this, but we are actually best friends. I mean, we are both the same age, were raised in Hollywood (ok, I am from Santa Monica- but I assure you it is virtually the same thing), we are both devoted wives and mothers, we both love to cook, shop, and entertain. And we are both awesome. Need I say more?
When I was watching her show this past season, I was thrilled to find out she was writing a book on throwing parties! Tori’s soirees are legen……wait for it……dary and I was excited to see what went on behind the scenes. Her book takes the reader through all the planning, all the possible problems, how to time manage, and what Tori’s inspiration is for her parties.
I loved her book because of the gorgeous pictures, the relatable way it is written, and the inspiration it gave me to throw my own party. On the other hand, Tori often gives ‘cost saving’ tips which I found amusing. I mean yes, everything you see on the table above is thrift shopped, but who spends hundreds of dollars on props for their parties? But then again, that is all part of the fantasy- and I love every minute of it.
Isn’t this dessert table stunning? It is Hello Kitty themed. How cute is that? Of course I personally would never throw this big of a party of my kids, with the exception of their first and their 13th. But this book got me itching to throw a ‘welcome to summer’ barbecue in June. I have even been trolling the internet for invitation inspiration.
So here is what I want to know, how many of you kittens throw more than one big bash a year? And what do you consider key for a great party? Music? Alcohol? The Guests? Share your thoughts in the comments.
