Last week I started my annual summer time fashion review with this post and then I got distracted. So today I am continuing with my vintage beachwear report by focusing on some vintage and vintage inspired rompers.
Bathing Beauty Vintage Romper
I thought I would start off with my favorite piece- this 1940s (according to the seller) vintage swimsuit that has never been worn! Isn’t it a beauty. Love the tropical print.
Pin-Up Style Play Suit
I found this adorable reproduction 1940s halter top and shorts last week and swooned. I really like the way the designer pieced together the vintage fabric, and of course I adore the turquoise color.
Vintage Cotton Top and Shorts
I put this in the ‘romper’ category because it is made of cotton and doesn’t seem to be meant to be worn in the water. Great Hawaiian print bubble shorts.
Vintage Hawaiian Swimsuit Romper
Is it a swimsuit? Is it a romper? Who cares because either way it is gorgeous! The spring green fabric is so fresh, and I like the way the bottom drapes to cover any flaws.
Scattered Wing Romper
This is not vintage, but I wanted to include it because I like the fact it has long sleeves. As a woman of a certain age, I try to keep out of the sun and I like that this gives my arms coverage. With a pair of thong sandals, large sunglasses, and a wide brimmed hat, I think this could be very glamorous.
And here is a post I did back in 2010 on my own vintage romper.
